PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera shake compensating device capable of controlling a camera shake compensating system in response to magnitude of camera shake, and capable of performing suitable camera shake compensation in response to the magnitude of the camera shake. SOLUTION: The camera shake compensating device is provided with first compensating means for performing the camera shake compensation relating to an input image using an image restoration filter produced based on camera shake information, and second compensating means for performing the camera shake compensation relating to the input image by performing an edge enhancement process responding to the input image. Further, device has a first compensation mode for performing compensation made by the first compensating means, a second compensation mode for performing compensation made by the second compensating means, and a third mode for not performing any compensation as a compensation mode.
