PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal such as a facsimile in which labor required for specifying a sending end can be reduced by a simple arrangement. SOLUTION: The communication terminal 10 functions as a G3 facsimile for transmitting document data (image data) concerning a transmission document as transmission data through a general public network, and also functions as an Internet facsimile for transmitting the document data concerning the transmission document while being attached to e-mail via the Internet 30. The image reading section 109 of the communication terminal 10 reads out a reading object mounted to a glass plate 122a by an FBS system to create image data. In the communication terminal 10, the sending end of transmission document data is determined based on the created image data by reading out a card mounted in the sending end card reading area 123 on the glass plate 122a at an image reading section 109.
