PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems, wherein the management of contents as to which contents are to be stored and which contents are to be erased by grasping contents of a huge amount of recording contents is difficult resulting from a widespread use of a large capacity recording medium and contents possibly to be viewed later can be accidentally erased when erasing contents in the order of recorded date order of prior arts. SOLUTION: The information-erasing method is configured such that metadata of recorded contents are configured to keep indices such as recorded date and time and a keyword of contents, and a degree of popularity for the judgment to erase. The metadata are configured so that a user can optionally set a participation rate of the indices such as recorded date and time, a keyword of contents, and a degree of popularity. The erasing method is configured such that contents to be erased are selected by a synthetic judgment using the participation rate and its weight for the erasure judgement.
