PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the degree of freedom and economy of the connection of an extended functional unit in a unit type programmable controller. SOLUTION: Extended casing units 300a and 300b for adjusting the number of input/output are connected to the right edge face of a basic casing unit 100A and first and second extended connection connectors 160a and 170a are installed side by side on the left edge face of the basic casing unit 100A. Various first extended casing units 600 are connected to the first extended connection connector 160a, and various second extended casing units 700 are connected to the second extended connection connector 170a. When the first and second extended casing units are installed side by side, the second extended casing unit 700 is connected first, and the first extended casing unit 600 is connected through the second extended casing unit 700 to the basic casing unit 100A.
