PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance convenience when portable audio equipment is controlled by external equipment. SOLUTION: When a key 37 of the external equipment 30 allocated to a key 16 of the portable audio equipment 10 is depressed, an analog signal of voltage indicating that the key 37 is depressed is generated by a microcomputer 31 and a voltage conversion part 33 and input in the microcomputer 13 via a headphone terminal 19. A lighting function 13d of the microcomputer 13 judges that the key 37 of the external equipment 30 allocated to the key 16 is depressed based on the analog signal and lights a back light 17 of a liquid crystal display panel 15. and an LED light 18 for brightening the surroundings of the key 16.
