PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably form a turbulent swirl around an ignition plug. SOLUTION: In this internal combustion engine 100a, a first tumble stream G<SB>1</SB>and a second tumble stream G<SB>2</SB>flowing in the reverse direction to the direction of swirl of the first tumble stream G<SB>1</SB>are generated in a combustion chamber 1b in a cylinder 1s. A bulkhead 2B of a cylinder head provided between the first tumble stream G<SB>1</SB>and the second tumble stream G<SB>2</SB>is provided in the combustion chamber 1b of the internal combustion engine 100a and on an inner side of the cylinder head 2.
