PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas recirculation system ensuring sealing property in full closure and suitably adjusting an EGR amount. SOLUTION: The exhaust gas recirculation system 20 having an exhaust gas recirculation passage 26 for circulating a part of exhaust gas to a combustion engine is characterized in that a poppet valve 32 and a butterfly valve 34 are arranged in series in the exhaust gas recirculation passage 26.
