PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety handrail capable of preventing a worker from accidentally falling. SOLUTION: This safety handrail is installed on a frame scaffold assembled in multiple stages while a scaffold plank 6 is installed across the horizontal members of both erected frames 4 and 4. The safety handrail comprises a handrail body 7 formed of steel tube right and left vertical frames 11, upper and lower lateral frames 12 and 13, and a center rail 15 and disposed between opposed piers 1 and 1 of the erected frames 4 and 4, and a mounting means B for mounting the handrail body 7 on the piers 1. Since reinforcement members 5 reinforcing the specified parts of the right and left vertical frames 11 of the handrail body 7 are fitted to the vertical frames 11, the vertical frames 11 of the handrail body 7 are bent from near the upper end of the vertical frame portions of the vertical frames reinforced by the reinforcement members 5 to the inside of the handrail when a predetermined impact tensile load acts on the upper lateral frame 12 in the inner direction of the handrail in such a state that the hook F of the safety belt A worn by the body of the worker M is fixed to the upper lateral frame 12 of the handrail body 7.
