PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new S-containing cyclic compound useful as a raw material for optical resins having good heat resistance, high transparency and high refractive index and provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The S-containing cyclic compound is expressed by general formula. 1,3-dithio-tricyclo[5, 4, 0, 1<SP>6, 9</SP>]-7-dodecene having a specific structure is claimed.
