PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope capable of being achieved with a simple structure and securing excellent operability for endoscopic resection of a mucous membrane. SOLUTION: The distal end 15 of an insertion part 7 has a channel 25 formed along the longitudinal direction of the insertion part 7 for permitting insertion of a treatment instrument 24, and an objective optical system 29 with an incident light axis O in the direction of the visual field obliquely downward is attached adjacent to the upper part of the channel 25. The distal end side of the treatment instrument 24 projecting from the channel 25, which is formed in such a direction that the treatment can be easily performed, is captured in the range of the visual field by the objective optical system 29 in the strabismal direction, so that the treatment can be easily performed.
