PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound mat capable of substantially shortening manufacture time, reducing manufacture costs, saving the labor of disposal and reducing the cost of the disposal, and its sewing device. SOLUTION: A mattress 1 is constituted by connecting the peripheral edge parts of mats 2, 3 and 4 piled up with each other by sewing. In the sewing, a body sewing part where sewing thread passes through the peripheral edge parts of the mats 2, 3 and 4, an empty sewing part where the sewing thread continued to the body sewing part is over the peripheral edge part side faces of the mats 2, 3 and 4, and the body sewing part where the sewing thread continues from the empty sewing part are successively formed. By such constitution, since the need of a drying process after adhesion is eliminated differently from the case of connecting the plurality of mats with an adhesive, the manufacture time is substantially shortened and the manufacture costs are reduced. Also, in the segregation work when disposing the mattress 1, since it is sufficient to cut the sewing thread at the peripheral edge part, the labor of the disposal is saved and the cost of the disposal is reduced.
