The folding hood has a hood frame and a hood cover, whereby to a rear side tension stirrup of the frame an edge area of the cover is fixed. On the tension stirrup a sealing body is fitted, which is in effective connection with an adjacent bodywork part. On the tension stirrup (4) separated accommodations (9,10) are provided for fixing the edge area of the hood cover (2) and for retention of the sealing body (7). The first accommodation (9) for the hood cover is formed by a back-cut longitudinal groove provided with a narrow entry aperture in which an edge-side holding section of the hood cover is inserted.
