<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the outer circumference sealing structure of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell having low cost and high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: A recessed groove 12 having a circular arc cross section is integrally formed in the outer circumferential part on the surface of a separator 4 on an anode side facing an electrode structure, a projection 13 having more circular arc cross section than that of the recessed groove 12 is integrally formed in the outer circumferential part on the surface of the separator 5 on a cathode side facing the electrode structure 1, and the diameter of the circular arc of the projection 13 is set smaller than that of the recessed groove 12. The recessed groove 12 and the projection 13 installed in the same unit cell 2 are faced each other in the stacking direction of electrode catalyst layers 6, 7 and polymer electrolyte membranes 8, 9, and installed in the position interposing a resin sheet 10. A groove with step 18 is formed on each end surface of the separators 4, 5, and a sealant 19 is filled from the outer circumferential side surface of a resin sheet 10 to the inside of the groove with step 18. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
