<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile phone, the communication standby mode of which can surely and simply be set, and to provide a communication standby mode setting system of the mobile phone. <P>SOLUTION: The mobile phone 3 including a plurality of communication standby modes wherein notice operations by notice means 39, 40 are set, includes a region detection means 311 for detecting whether or not the mobile phone 3 exists in a mode designation region designated with any of the communication standby modes; a mode switching signal reception means 312 that receives an externally received radio wave signal and extracts a mode switching signal for switching the communication standby modes on the basis of the radio wave signal when receiving the externally received radio wave signal; and a mode setting means 326 that selects any of the communication standby modes on the basis of the extracted mode switching signal.
