<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element having an identification mark capable of securing visibility without sacrificing an effective surface area even in the case of a small-sized optical element, and to provide a method of manufacturing the optical element, and an optical desk device. <P>SOLUTION: A diffractive element 8 is formed rectangular in the plane direction and the identification mark formed from an anti-refractive film 9 is formed on the corner part of the surface. In the diffractive element 8 formed rectangular, a large identification mark 9a is formed without sacrificing the effective surface area of the diffractive element 8 by forming the identification mark 9a using a nearly trianglular region outside of a far field pattern LL of an optical beam.
