PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buffer monitoring device in a multiprocessor system that when all-buffers are busy, forcibly releases all buffers used in a series of processing steps over different processors, and flexibly responds to the operational conditions of the system. SOLUTION: The data buffer monitoring device comprises a buffer data control information table for monitoring usage of buffers of a processor and other processors, a default state setting table for giving a default value to the buffer data control information table and storing data of the buffer information of the other processors to the buffers to be used for implementing a series of operations among processors, a buffer monitoring information setting and control part for inputting information from a command console and setting buffer monitoring information to the buffer data control information table, a buffer monitoring control part for calculating the monitoring information set by the buffer monitoring information setting and control part, and monitoring conditions of each buffer, and controlling the operation of a cyclic monitoring task, and the cyclic monitoring task for implementing the buffer monitoring in each processor and writing the monitoring result in the buffer data control information table.
