PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and rapidly find out a machine in which an overlay network generation application is started from a specific group of machines. SOLUTION: A collection socket database 113 stores socket information of one or more nodes for examining whether the overlay network generation application is started or not. A connecting destination limitation means 114 selects socket information of node from the collection socket database 113 and sets it in an initial node list. When an overlay link establishment means 110 that is the overlay network generation application tries, when started, to establish an overlay link to an examination object node set in the initial node list. A link establishment confirmation means 109 confirms whether the overlay link is established or not, and stores information of the node in which the overlay link is established in a detection node database 112.
