摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain reduction in engine output, particularly, reduction in wide-open-throttle performance of an engine, by improving combustion stability, exhaust gas performance and fuel economy of the engine. SOLUTION: When a lift quantity of an intake valve 26 driven by a continuously variable valve lift mechanism 27 is small, a flow of intake air flowing in a combustion chamber 17 from the opposite side of the exhaust hole part 21 side among intake hole parts 22 is promoted. When the lift quantity of the intake valve 26 driven by the continuously variable valve lift mechanism 27 is large, a flow promoting part 72 is provided for restraining reduction in a flow rate of the intake air flowing in the combustion chamber 17 via the intake hole parts 22.
