PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blanking mechanism capable of rapidly and and efficiently performing blanking with good accuracy by eliminating the variation in pressing force when a punch is pressed to a die. SOLUTION: The blanking mechanism 10 is composed of a table 13 to install a work W, two head sections 16 to support the punch 33 by enabling the punch to be advanced and retreated with respect to the table 13, a lifting device 17 to cause the punch 33 to ascend and descend, and a supporting mechanism 12 to support the head sections 16. The supporting mechanism 12 is composed of strut sections 18a, 18b extending upward from both sides of the table 13, and a supporting beam section 19 spanned across the top ends of the strut sections 18a, 18b. Mounting holes 18a are provided at the center of the supporting beam section 19 and the two head sections 16 are mounted in the mounting holes 19a. Also, the table 13 is provided with a hole section 13a to expose the top surfaces of the two dies 24 from the hole section 13a.
