PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately impart a specified tension to a strip material passing a slitter for dividing a variety of strip materials with different materials and thicknesses with the slitter so that flares are not produced in a slitter rewinder. SOLUTION: A strip material S0 is pulled out from a web roll R0 by a pullout roller r7 and vertically sorted after slitted into multiple strip materials S with the slitter 4. The sorted strip materials S are sent to take-up parts 5A and 5B by feedout rollers r12 and r16. The strip material S0 is wrapped around a dancer roller r8 installed between the pullout roller r7 and the slitter 4. A thrust for producing a specified tension in the strip material S0 is imparted to the dancer roller r8 by a thrust imparting means 7. Based on a detection signal for displacement from the reference position of the dancer roller r8 detected by a displacement detection device 8, the drive speed of the pullout roller r7 is adjusted by a controller 9 so that the dancer roller r8 can be returned to the reference position.
