PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide structure material making clearance management unnecessary and facilitate joining when the material is joined to another structure material at a bent part, and improving yield of material as compared with a case of manufacturing by fusing steel plate. SOLUTION: A tie beam 11 is provided with the bent parts 13 on both end parts of a metal bar material 12 of a rectangular section shape. The bent part 13 includes a swelling part 13a inside and a swelling part 13b on another flat plate part. Additionally, another flat surface part has a flat part 13c without swelling. The tie beam 11 is manufactured by bending flat steel. Bending is performed under a condition where swell of material to the inside of the bent part 13 and one flat part of the bent part 13 is permitted when bending is performed.
