<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiring board for mounting a light emitting element which can be produced easily and inexpensively and can withstand against thermal variation by forming a light reflecting surface having a cross-section swelling to the light emitting element side on the side face of a cavity for mounting the light emitting element on the bottom face thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The wiring board 1 for mounting a light emitting element comprises a substrate body 2 composed of ceramic (insulating material) and having a surface 3 and a rear surface 4, a cavity 5 opening to the surface 3 of the substrate body 2 and consisting of the bottom face 6 and the side face 7, a side metal layer 9 formed on the side face 7 of the cavity 5 and a bottom face metal layer 8 formed on the periphery of the bottom face 6 contiguous to the side face 7 of the cavity 5, a reflective portion 10 formed at the internal corner of the side metal layer 9 and the bottom face metal layer 8 and containing a metal having a melting point lower than that of the metal in the metal layers 8, 9 wherein the surface of the reflective portion 10 is swelling to the central side of the cavity 5 and its cross-section is an arcuate light reflecting surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
