PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically fold and attach the edge part of an adhesive tape along the edge of an item regarding an adhesive tape attaching device for attaching the main part of the adhesive tape on the surface of an item roughly simultaneously. SOLUTION: This attaching device 10 is provided with a holding member 18 for holding an adhesive tape T, a pressing/attaching mechanism 14 for attaching the main part M of the tape held by the member 18 on the surface S of an item under pressure, and an edge folding mechanism 50 for folding the edge part m of the tape whose main part is attached to the surface of the item along the edge E of the surface of the item in the same condition. The edge folding mechanism is provided with an elastically deformable edge folding member 52 provided adjoining the elasticity holding face 16 of the holding member and a pressing member 58 for elastically deforming the edge folding member and for moving the contact face 56 of the same toward the elasticity holding face. The contact face 56 of the member 52 elastically deformed under the pressure of the member 58 folds the edge m of the tape until the final step for attaching the same to the other side face of the surface S of the item.
