PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety of a device by surely preventing electrolyte solution exhausted from the battery from short-circuiting battery modules arranged at top and bottom. SOLUTION: The power supply device has battery units 1 with a plurality of battery modules 2 arrayed in a holder case 3 laminated in up-and-down multiple steps. Each battery unit 1 has each battery module 2 connected by coupling an output terminal 5 at an end part of the module 2 to a busbar. The power supply device has a separating member 6 located between the modules 2 of the battery units 1 at the top and the bottom and along the end part of the battery module 2 of the upper-step battery unit 1. The separating member 6 is to be a liquid-receiving tank 10 with an upward opening capable of accepting the electrolyte solution exhausted from the upper-step battery module 2. The power supply device stores the electrolyte solution exhausted from the upper-step battery module 2 with the liquid-receiving tank of the separating member 6, or transfers it to a given position to exhaust it and prevent the liquid solution from short-circuiting the top and the bottom battery modules 2.
