PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arm rest capable of facilitating performing slide operation by one hand. SOLUTION: In this arm rest provided with an arm rest body 5 at a base 4 through a slide mechanism 6 to be slid freely, the slide mechanism 6 has a slide base body 8 attached at either of the base 4 or the arm rest body 5, guide portions provided on both the sides of the slide base body 8, a slide portion 9 attached at the other of the base 4 or the arm rest body 5 and supported by the slide base body 8 to be slid freely along the guide portion, and of which the position is slid to the first position or the second position by a heart cam mechanism 71, and a coil spring provided between the slide portion 9 and the slide base body 8.
