PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting-chip winding prevention tool for a spiral tap which can prevent cutting chips from winding around a shank and a tap holder. SOLUTION: The cutting-chip winding prevention tool 30 is composed of a flexible resin or a rubber member. The tool is provided with the external face 33 formed into an almost funnel shape, a shank opening part 32, which is bored to a pointed part of the external face 33 and through which the shank 13 of the spiral tap 10 penetrates, and a holder opening part 31 formed to the side opposite to the shank opening part 32 and fittable to a tap collet 2 of the tap holder 1. The external face 33 of the tool 30 can not be easily torn since it has a thickness thicker than a specific thickness and is composed of the flexible resin or the rubber member. Consequently, the tool 30 can softly bound off the cutting chips 51 by absorbing the hitting shock even if they hit the tool. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
