The lamp has a housing (1) in which a printed circuit board with light emitting diodes is arranged, where the diodes are arranged in a raster and the housing is manufactured from plastic or steel plate. The board carries control electronic devices for controlling the diodes. A cover plate (3) is arranged before the board and coplanar to the board and has a transparent section before each of the diodes. A power supply unit for supplying the diodes with low voltage is arranged in a retainer of the housing. A socket is provided for connecting the power supply unit to a mains supply.
