CATHETER PORT ASSEMBLY FOR EXTRACORPOREAL TREATMENT

A catheter port assembly (100) having a body (101) having a distal end (110) , a proximal end (120) and a longitudinal channel (102) extending therethrough is disclosed. The catheter port assembly further comprises a valve (150) disposed along the longitudinal channel. The valve is adapted to restrict fl ow in at least one direction and the distal end is adapted to be connected to a catheter. The distal end is adapted to be at least partially subcutaneously inserted into a patient after being connected to a catheter and the proximal end is adapted to be connected to an extracorporeal device. The present invention also discloses a method of inserting a catheter assembly comprisin g including the catheter port assembly.
