<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding method of a quartz glass which can homogeneously mold the surface having a wide area by the heating-pressing molding of a quartz glass and can improve the productivity. <P>SOLUTION: The method for molding a sheet-like quartz glass comprises: holding a quartz glass block 25 of a column shape in a mold 15; and heating-pressing this quartz glass block 25, wherein the side surfaces of the quartz glass block 25 is chamfered to form a pair of flat surfaces 25a which face each other, one flat surface 25a is brought into contact with the base 18 of the mold 15, thereby this quartz glass block 25 of a column shape is held horizontally, then while this quartz glass block 25 is heated, it is pressed by a top plate 23, thereby a sheet-like quartz glass is formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
