摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an operator from being given any sense of incompatibility by cooperatively operating a four wheel steering device and an ACC system. SOLUTION: The steering control characteristics of a wheel is set by the traveling controller of a vehicle so as to be matched with the intention of an operator when the set inter-vehicle distance of an ACC is set. Concretely, when the set inter-vehicle distance is "short", a rear wheel steering control gain is set as a large value so that the behavior of its own vehicle 100 when a steering operation is performed by the operator can be made quick (yaw rate or lateral moving speed is made large), and when the set inter-vehicle distance is "long", the rear wheel steering control gain is set as a small value so that the behavior of its own vehicle 100 when the steering operation is performed by the operator can be made slow (yaw rate or lateral moving speed is made small).
