PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus for easily gathering image data for generating three-dimensional image data. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus comprises: an ultrasonic probe 1 for scanning ultrasonic waves to a subject P; a transmission/reception part 2 for transmitting driving signals and receiving ultrasonic reception signals to/from the ultrasonic probe 1; a data generation part 41 for generating the image data from the ultrasonic reception signals; an image data storage part 42 for preserving the image data; a position data generation part 3 for detecting the position and angle of the ultrasonic probe 1 and generating position data; a positional information preparation part 52 for preparing the position information 53 of the ultrasonic probe 1 on the basis of the position data; and an image data processing part 61 for generating two-dimensional or three-dimensional image data from the image data read from the image data storage part 42 on the basis of the position data.
