<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel capable of minimizing a dimension in a direction of an optical axis when lenses are collapsed and, moreover, minimizing a dimension in a plane transverse to the optical axis and even a dimension of an imaging apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The lens barrel is a collapsible lens barrel and is provided with a plurality of lens retaining frames which respectively retain a plurality of lens groups at every lens group and a lens retaining frame drive means which drives the lens frames. The lens barrel includes a third lens retaining frame 31 which, in a photographing state, locates all lens groups on the same optical axis and, in a collapsible state, retains and moves a third lens group so that the third lens group is retracted to a position different from optical axes of a first lens group, a second lens group and a fourth lens group, and to the side outer than the largest outer diameter of lens barrels of the first lens group, the second lens group and the fourth lens group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
