PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for utilizing metadata embedded in a color measurement target to identify the color measurement target through color measurement. SOLUTION: When a color measurement target is used for the color calibration, color characterization, color adjustment and/or color correction of a color output device, metadata are directly embedded into the color patches of the color measurement target to identify the color measurement target through color measurement.
