PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-luminous flat display apparatus with nano material such as a carbon nano tube, etc., as an electron source with sufficiently quick electrical response for wiring and with a uniform light emitting pattern when a large size display with a screen size which is approximately 40 inches or larger is manufactured. SOLUTION: The self-luminous flat display apparatus is provided with a height difference of 1μm or less between indentions and projections on surfaces of cathode electrodes in a plurality of pixels formed in a central part and peripheral parts of a display region. A film thickness of a fewμm can be realized by forming the electron source composed from the nano material on the surfaces of the cathode electrodes and manufacturing the cathode electrodes by a printing method, wiring resistance is reduced and a high speed response is secured.
