PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking support method and a parking support device capable of displaying an image using past image data, and reducing a load of a device. SOLUTION: A navigation device 1 stores the image data obtained by an image data obtaining portion 12 in an image memory 6 as the past image data in connection with a position shooting the image data. A control portion 3 determines whether a vehicle enters at least a parking target area or not. When it is determined that the vehicle enters the parking target area, a past image on the basis of the past image data shooting the parking target area, and a present image on the basis of the image data obtained at a present position of the vehicle are indicated on a display 7.
