The partition (1) has a support structure with several vertically extending support rods (2) fitted with a plastics partition element (4). At least one partition element has a flat surface area with a vertical length amounting to at least 50 percent and preferably 100 percent of the width of the partition element in the horizontal direction. The partition elements are preferably made at least in some sections of translucent plastics. At least one partition element can be connected for pivotal movement to the support structure through a frame element (8).
