<p>A sternum separated longitudinally for an operation has to be supported during the healing process. The fixing device (1) has a rectangular stationary rear element (2) with pointed projections around the edge and is inserted into the cavity behind the bones. A second rectangular element (5), also with pointed projections (7), can be moved along two parallel positioned bars (3,4) towards the sternum. The bars (3,4) are cut off after adjustment. A rectangular cap with rounded corners and a slightly convex upper surface is clipped to the top of the arrangemnt (1).</p> |
