A revolving crane has a hollow boom consisting of two sections each with upper (10, 20) and lower load-bearing straps. The two sections are joined by a peg (22) at the end of a first section (24) that locates in the matching socket (12) in the second section (14). The peg is secured by a transverse bolt (40) locating through aligned holes (30) in the second section and peg. The bolt is secured by a split spring pin (50).
