The method involves providing the number of length units in the longitudinal and transverse directions. Where the warp and weft fibers cross and form lumps, a measure is derived for the tension working in the respective direction and is used as a reference value which, for the same number of lumps per unit length operates in a three dimensionally stretched cover.
