<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater capable of attaining the operation of a heat pump 6 of higher efficiency by selecting heat exchangeable medium temperature water in a hot water storage tank 8 according to temperature in a heating unit 13 to heat the heating unit 13, thereby restraining medium temperature water from spreading in the hot water storage tank. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of hot water discharge ports are provided in a vertical direction of a side face of the hot water storage tank 8, and the heating unit 13 is heated with hot water in the hot water storage tank 8 taken out of the hot water discharge port, as a heat source. When heating is determined to be necessary, a hot water temperature detected by a heating unit sensor 32, and the temperatures of stored hot water temperature detecting means 17a, 17c, 17e, are compared in a heat source side circuit 30 to select a switching means 10 corresponding to the stored hot water temperature detecting means 17 which detected the temperature equal to the hot water temperature detected by the heating unit sensor 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
