PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an indoor unit for a ceiling embedded air conditioner and to reduce the ventilation resistance of suction to reduce blast noise and blower power. SOLUTION: The indoor unit for the ceiling embedded air conditioner has a casing 2 provided with a decorative panel 1; an indoor heat exchanger 11 and blowers 6, 7 provided in the casing 2; a suction grille 3 provided at the center of the decorative panel 1; and a blowoff port 5 disposed around the suction grille 3. Air is sucked from the outside of the casing 2 through the suction grille 3 and blown off indoors from the blowoff port 5 through the indoor heat exchanger 11. The indoor unit further comprises an opening 13 formed between the suction grille 3 and the blowoff port 5 in the decorative panel 1, and a suction port 14 for sucking air from the outside of the casing 2 through the opening 13.
