<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate input device of which operation screen can be illuminated, and a terminal device equipped with the device. <P>SOLUTION: The coordinate input device 1 is composed of a sensor 4 which is a detection means for detecting an operational status on an operational face A by a coordinate indication body and a front light B which is disposed on the sensor 4 and is an illumination means for illuminating the operational face A. When the operational face A of the coordinate input device 1 is illuminated, the light emitted from an LED 13 travels inside a light guide plate 12, is emitted from a prism face 12a, is reflected by a reflection plate 11, turns around, and travels toward the operational face A.
