PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of image forming by reducing the frequency of performing such recovery control that image forming is stopped or image forming speed is decreased in order to prevent the temperature fall of a heating member in the case of consecutive image forming. SOLUTION: A plurality of thresholds used to judge whether to perform the recovery control are prepared, and the threshold is selected based on at least two or more values out of the temperature of a pressure member obtained when a power source is turned on, the heat accumulation degree of the pressure member, the temperature of the pressure member in the midst of image forming and ambient temperature.
