PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a rotary torque to be small in a thrust roller bearing. SOLUTION: Outer diameter side ends of both race wheels 12, 14 are without collars. A roller 16 is tapered so that its diameter increases gradually from the inner diameter side to the outer diameter side. In response to this, race wheel faces 12a, 14a are tapered. A recess 18f is provided on the inside face of the outer diameter side of a pocket hole 18a. A ball 20 is stored in the recess 18f, and accompanying rolling of the roller 16 arranged in the pocket hole 18a, the ball 20 arranged in the recess 18f is made to rollingly contact the outer diameter side end face of the roller 16.
