PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce rattling sound of a sliding door and form the floor face of a sliding door more flatly by eliminating a bottom rail for the sliding door from the floor face in a door opening section of a railroad vehicle. SOLUTION: Only part L of the bottom rail 18 of the sliding door 12 between the interior of a shutter box to the position occupied by the leading end 12a of the door 12 in the totally opened state is installed as a protrusion from the floor face. When the door 12 is totally opened, protrusions are eliminated on the floor face in the opening section of the sliding door. Further, only part 20A of a sliding plate 20 installed along the bottom edge of the sliding door 12, which part is engaged with the bottom rail 18 when the sliding door 12 is totally closed, is made of a material softer than the material of the other part 20B. Thus, even if the sliding door 12 vibrates in the totally closed state, only the part 20A of the sliding plate 20 made of the soft material abuts against the bottom rail 18 so that rattling sound of the sliding door 12 is reduced.
