<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ankle foot orthosis which achieves natural walking action close to that of a healthy person by imparting support of a characteristic suitable for improving walking of a wearer at individual phases of walking action. <P>SOLUTION: The ankle foot orthosis 1 connecting a sole placing body 3 for placing the sole to the lower leg worn body 2 worn to the lower leg part in a manner of being swingable in the directions of plantar flexion and dorsiflexion discriminates which phase of walking action consisting of three or more phases the waling action is at present, and imparts variable resistance according to the discriminated phase to the swing made by external force. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
