<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonreciprocal device that is applicable even to a device in which a large area and a low cost are needed, and also to provide a photoelectric converting device using the device. <P>SOLUTION: A one-dimensional photonic crystal portion 101 comprises alternately stacked layers of different dielectric materials each having about λ/4 film thickness, and reflects electromagnetic waves at a wavelength λ made incident perpendicular to the crystal. A three-dimensional photonic crystal portion 102 has a structure of a three-dimensional photonic crystal provided with holes. The holes are formed in a direction perpendicular to the stacking direction of layers in the one-dimensional photonic crystal portion 101. The one-dimensional photonic crystal portion 101 reflects electromagnetic waves P10 made incident perpendicular to the crystal but passes through electromagnetic waves P11 made obliquely incident on the crystal. The electromagnetic waves P20, P21 made incident from the side of the three-dimensional photonic crystal portion 102 are entirely reflected when the waves are at a predetermined wavelength λ regardless of whether the incident electromagnetic waves are perpendicular or oblique to the crystal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
