Corrosion of the steel pipes 10 of a heating coil fitted in an oil tank is reduced by mounting zinc or aluminium anodes at spaced apart positions on the pipes and in electrical contact therewith. As shown in Fig. 1, each anode 13 is in the form of a short strip which is secured by means of the pipe supporting clip 11. In a modification, Fig. 5, the anode consists of two sleeves 19, 20 positioned one each side of the clip 11 and joined by a bar 21. |
