PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a biometric quantity and an authentication program necessary for biometric authentication from flowing out in a form analyzable by a third party.

SOLUTION: When a biometric quantity for authentication is registered in an IC card, the biometric quantity is acquired and encrypted by this biometric authentication device, and directly stored in an IC card device without using a control computer. In authentication, the encrypted biometric quantity registered in the IC card is inputted to the biometric authentication device, and a biometric quantity is extracted in the biometric authentication device and authenticated by collating it with the inputted biometric quantity. The biometric quantity is encrypted and stored when the program for biometric authentication in the authentication device is not started by the device.
