PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce burn-in in a display area including its peripheral part with respect to a liquid crystal display device which has a plurality of pixel electrodes within one pixel to improve halftone display characteristics. SOLUTION: An additional gate bus line is provided in the peripheral part of the display area, and a transistor for causing the pixel to discharge electricity is driven.
